Bean and pulses specialties

Our primary products are green mung beans for food grade and sprouting, and black matpe and black-eyed beans.

Our specialty grade green mung beans are polished for sprouting (Shwe Wah and Yay Zin), and unpolished green mung beans (Wakema). It is an exclusive bean. It is thoroughly prized in Japan and the EU. We produce more than 300 tons a year.

Mung beans are commonly sprouted; however, they cook quickly and are used widely in hearty soups and even vegetarian bean burgers. Our mung beans are highly prized sprouting beans.

Bean sprouts are an excellent source of antioxidants, vitamin C, calcium, and iron. They can easily be added to stir fries, sprinkled onto salads, added to healthy sandwiches, and even eaten raw. The increase in vegetarianism and exploration of Asian favourites makes this a fine ingredient. These beans are often known as green gram or golden gram.

We also specialize in black matpe beans. We call it urad in Myanmar. It has been grown for many years and is very popular in Indian dishes. It grows well and extensively in the hilly areas, and the dry and delta areas of the Irrawaddy River.

EU sprouted beans

The EU sprouted beans market is an extremely specialized niche segment with comprehensive hygienic practices. Many regulations are required for sprouts on traceability, implementation of good agricultural practices (GAP) and hygiene practices (GHP).

Together, we are confident in meeting these environmental and social standards. We combine my skills, knowledge, motivation, and capacity to understand and my father’s years of experience in administering environmental, safety and wellbeing standards.

We have gained EU certification for our bean sprouting operations and can export into the EU, UK, and Canada.

These are the beans kids in the 1960s and 70’s enjoyed growing, with a sprinkle of water they come out of dormancy and grow into a little plant. The humble small green bean for sprouting is all the rage again.
