Processing our beans and pulses

United Dragon factory is in the Wartayar Industrial Zone in northwest Yangon. It has easy access to the harbour only 15 kms away and is well serviced by roads and logistic services. It is 6,400m2 and managed under ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP guidelines.

We implemented these guidelines in 2018 to streamline processes, improve consistency and ensure sound decisions based on data and results. Our operations are also regularly audited.

Fresh produce arrives by truck and is bagged by region. Each bag is checked on arrival for quality.

Production capacity is 80 tons per day. We have three processing machines and one splitting machine. This state-of-the-art process technology for pulses combines optimum cleaning, grading, dehulling and optical sorting.

Our machines can grind raw products into specific sizes, delivering a consistently high quality, homogenous product.

The factory and warehouse are powered by the grid. We are equipped with generators to avoid energy glitches and our processing involves no water which all adds to our sustainability.

We label according to buyers’ requests. We randomly sample bags of beans and pulses for chemical checking by a qualified third-party laboratory. We send the samples to SGS and OMIC laboratory.

United Dragon responds to our customer’s needs. We can provide raw or minimally processed products, or 100% processed.

Packaging

Our warehouse is 7,000m2 and is clean and organized. It is purposefully designed for efficiency, and a good and easy working environment. Each area is set up for a specific task, ensuring easy flow between each step.

When packing our products into transport containers, we take every effort to keep everything clean and dry. Sprouting beans are packed into laminated transparent bags that allow customers to see the quality of our beans without opening the packaging.

We package in reusable polypropylene industry standard (PP) or ISO certified, laminated, transparent bags. They are very strong and keep products moist and safe and prevent cross contamination of smells. Our packaging can also be reused many times.

Our packaged products are stored in our warehouse to prevent dust, dirt, or contaminants. Our storage areas and equipment are regularly cleaned and maintained. Pulses and beans are stored on pallets to prevent attracting moisture. It is a dry warehouse, pest free, secure, well ventilated, neat, and clean.
